For the hop today, I've created a beautiful LO of my kids, my parakeets. Blu, my oldest died last year. I had her 14 years. I just got my 2 newest ones as a present in April. I named them Leo and Bucky.
Well, now on to my LO.
Here is the main supplies I used.
Here is my finished project. Nothing spectacular was done.Simple yet sweet.
I cut my photos out with "imperial" decorated scissors. I placed the photos on top of some old doilies. I then took my stickles and went around the edge of doilies with matching color of bird, so I used blue, green, yellow. I had a package of adhesive backed chipboard letters and there was no name on them, I had no idea what I was saving them for so I used them as my title. The double layer flower came from the same set. I took my dyna label maker to print out the names and stuck them next to there pictures.
Here is a close up of each bird.
Blu - 14 years old
Leo - 11 months
Bucky - 11 months
Hope you enjoyed checking out my kids. Now hop on over to the scrapbooking queen
Your birds are great! We used to have parakeets and canaries when I was a kid. They are fun pets. I love the doily idea which was only made better when you added the bling of stickles!!

Cute birdies!! I love how your layout looks like a big birdhouse and the birds are in the doorways (at least to me it does)!!!
ReplyDeleteHow "TWEET"! Leo & Bucky looked like they are going to be spoiled with love & care. Your layout is terrific & the color choice is beautiful. I love that they look like they are standing at the doorway ready to go. Sorry to hear about Blu.

Parakeets remind me of my old parakeet. I miss her. I didn't think they could live as long as yours did. Mine only lived for about 6 years.
ReplyDeleteI love it, I use to have 2 birds when I was younger they are so much fun to talk to and mine use to whistle. Great job!!

How sweet! I love what you did with the design around the photos. I always wanted a bird. I nursed a sparrow back to health once. Does that count? lol Jearise in Lorby's World.
