Guest designer at Robin's nest...

Good morning crafters. Today I am here to bring you a awesome project. I am a guest designer today for Robin's nest and the Chattering Robins. Boy am I all excited and nervous.

My project for today Is a Forever Calendar. I used a piece of wood that was 6" x 14". The board is a pine surface. I used a lot of Robin's nest dewdrops. Dewdrops are so fun to use and very easy to glue down. I use paper that I got from Robin's nest a few years ago. The green and white mini rosettes are from Micheal's. The word family is from colorboc chipboard alphabets. I painted it in country tan and inked it in blue. I used dewdrops in Crimson – DD 195 on my letters. I put antique lace on the top and the bottom of the plaque. I added sea green string of pearls to the top lace. I used white lace flowers on the bottom of the plaque with flat back flowers in the center. I put 21 green rosettes and 19 white rosettes along the edges of the plaque and the top. I hung 12 chipboard squares sized in 1 inch with 12 gold jump rings and 12 gold eye hooks. I covered the squares with the same paper as I used on the plaque. I inked them in the same color as I used for the letters. I used dewdrops in Pansies and Sprinkles-DD 159 on the top of my squares. I put dew stackables between the white flowers. I used Hillside and Riverside dewdrops as designs on the plaque. To adhere everything down on the plaque I used glossy accents, the hot glue gun, and inkssentials glue n' seal. I found out that using the Marvy  jewel picker was the best option for gluing all these dewdrops down. It was a big help in my project. On the back I put two silver eyehooks and some antique lace to hang it up.

The following is a few photos to show you how I did it and the outcome of my forever calendar.

I hope you enjoyed my forever calendar and it inspired you to go and get some dewdrops from the Robin's nest and use them on your creations. Make sure you check out the Robin's nest for a lot of awesome products and make sure you also visit the chattering Robin's blog to see some more awesome creations from wonderful women all over the world.

Before you head on over to The Robin's Nest I want to also share with you some letters I made also using dew drops. Man I love using them. There so easy and so fun.

The Robin's Nest  has put together some fantastic card kits and tag kits, and there on sale until January 31st. So hurry up and get you some and don't forget the dewdrops.   Just use the code:  cardkitpromo for a 20% savings.

Have a wonderful day ~ Rhonda

Cocoa LO

Morning crafters, I'm here with my Tuesday DT post with Scrapping With Lisa Designs. I really love cocoa and I take pictures of my cup's of cocoa and cappuccino a lot. I was at Denny's with my family and I just had to try there new candy cane hot cocoa. Half way thru I just had to show my friend my new drink. Hence where I got my photo for my project below.

I used Lisa's somewhat new file called Cocoa-Flurries. I also added in a cocoa title from My Scrap Chick. I thought they looked well together.

I used a light blue cardstock for my base. Cut down a colorbok distressed brown for the middle. Used a light blue photo mat with snowflakes on it. I inked the blue with brown and the brown with blue. I also inked my cup and marshmallows blue. A few of my snow flakes have glitter on them.

Whelp, Thanks for stopping by and checking out my LO.

So now is your chance to go over to Lisa's store and pick you up a file to play with. You can get a free file in your emails if you sign up for newsletter, you wont want to miss it. She has some awesome new files added. Cute Christmas ones.

Christmas Traditions

Morning crafters, I'm here with my Tuesday DT post with Scrapping With Lisa Designs. I know it's only Thanksgiving but I was to anxious to go see santa and to scrap it, so i'm here with a Christmas LO.. I actually combined Lisa's Mr-and-Mrs-Claus with Treasure Box Designs weekly freebie Christmas traditions. I love both files and thought they worked well together. I also added a die cut of a stocking with the date.

I used DCWV the At Home Stack for the background. Inked the edges with green ink. Layered both photos onto a piece of Christmas scrap paper that I used in another project. I printed the files out on white card-stock then cut ad pieced them together. I inked around alot of the white in there clothes with red. I wanted it to look like Mr. and Mrs. Claus was holding our photos.

Let's get on with my Christmas Traditions Layout , shall we.

Whelp, Thanks for stopping by and checking out my LO.

New friends blog hop ~

Welcome to our Thanksgiving blog hop with Scrapping with Lisa Designs. Today we all used Lisa's New-Friends file along with her Card-Templates file. There is 9 card templates and even a envelope. You can use so many of Lisa's files with the card templates to make so many fun cards. Christmas is coming up.
You should of hopped on to my blog from Vanessa's .

Let's get on to my cards, shall we?

This one I used just the turkey. I made the title inside word and inked the edges. I used a brown tear type paper as the background. It reminds me of turkey shin. haha.

My second card I used both the bear and the turkey. Again I made the title in word and printed it, inking the edges. I used a scrap piece of paper that is kinda blue/green with white dots. I alsp inked around the paper with brown ink.

Here are my cards together,

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my cards. Now it's time to take the train on over to ~Janet ~ and see what she has to share with you.

Baby's first Thanksgiving...

Morning crafters, I'm here with my Tuesday DT post with Scrapping With Lisa Designs. I know I'm a day late, I had a horrific day yesterday and I didn't get to post. I made another LO for my cousins new daughter. I used Lisa's Babys-First-Thanksgiving file. I am having fun working with these baby files.

I used a yellow-kinda orange card-stock for the back ground. At the top I added the remainder of the fall paper I used on another LO. I used scrap paper in the background color for the photo mat's . I stamped some X along the sides of the mats. Used light green dropping ribbon to cover up the separation of papers.  I paper pieced the Babys-First-Thanksgiving  and inked as much as  I could. The journal mat I cut from the middle of a bigger one.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my Layout. Don't forget to go and sign up for the Newsletter . You can get some great deals and files.

I would love to see what you make, please feel free to come back and share with us.

Love makes you real..

Good morning, today I wanted to show you a project I made for my nieces 10th birthday that is coming up in a few weeks (shes a thanksgiving baby). I wanted to make her something she will love. She loves to craft with me and loves to paper piece , so I went with that theme. Oh I can not forget she loves purple and glitter.

I used a left over piece of wood from my stamp pad holder my papa made me. It was the perfect size for my idea. I sanded the whole thing, top bottom and all 4 sides. I then took some gesso and painted it white cause it had some black marks on both sides. After that dried I took some light purple paint and painted the top and all 4 sides. I left the bottom unpainted as she is going to hang it on her wall anyways. After the purple paint dried I painted it with a silver folk art glitter. It doesn't have TOO much glitter but just enough. While all my paint was drying I cut out my paper piecing file I wanted to use from paper piecings by nikki . I used her "Love makes you real" file. It is so adorable. Once I had that all cut and glued together I printed my favorite photo of my niece- Kiara, it is from her birthday last year. I then used a paper lace heart and decked it out. I used Martha Stewart markers to color some pieces in. I used brown, red, glitter green, glitter purple. I inked the outside of the heart with pink ink. Took a ultra fine black and kinda went in the flower so it doesn't look like a big red blob. Later today I am going to cut some chain and make a hanging handle so it can be hung up.

Here is my plaque.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my project.

I am entering this in to The Robins Nest Design Team , there looking for some more members.  You should check out The Robins Nest Store also. I absolutely love there dew drops.

Happy 17th Friendaversary...

On this day, November 8, 1995 I met my best friend. I just moved here to Florida on November 5th and my first day at work (I transferred my job from Michigan) was today. I was so nervous because you could tell I wasn't from here. LOL. Anyways on that day I met Chris, my best friend. It was a day I will never forget. Today is our 17th, yes 17th friendaversary (as I have always called it). We have had our ups and downs like everyone else, but I would never trade our friendship for any one else.

He is not home on this day so I must save my gift I made him until I see him . I have been keeping this a secret for 2 weeks. HA-HA bad me.  :O) I want to share it all with you.

I used 52 playing cards and the 2 jokers, red and black ink, two 3 inch binder rings in black, 52 reasons I thought hard on  some red and black card stock, some gears from the hardware, 2 chipboard numbers, some cream card stock, red and black yarn. On the red cards I wrote in black, inked the reason in red, inked the outside of card in black. For the black cards I wrote in red, inked reason in black, inked outside of card in red. The whole album is in all red and black. His favorite colors. The jokers are my front and back covers.

I sorted all cards by K, Q, J , and so on. I started the album with the K. As you can see in the picture below all piles are in the same order of suit. Seemed easier that way for me.

Here is my gift, I just hope it is manly enough for him.

Thanks Chris for the past 17 years and also thanks for the next 17 years.

Baby's First Christmas LO

Hello, Just wanted to drop by and show you a special layout I made for my cousin. Him and his wife just had a precious baby girl.  This will be her first christmas so I made a layout they can add photos too and cherish.

I used a tan brown and cream glittery card stock from DCWV for the background. I then used some light green paper for the two photo mats, inking them with a darker green color.. I used a darker green and the same pattern from the photo-mats to spell out Baby's 1st Christmas and the tree. I used Cricut Craft Room for the tree and title. For the baby Santa and the two presents under the tree, I used Lisa's Baby's 1st Christmas file. I made the other two presents by the Santa baby from cream scraps and colored them in with Martha Stewart Glitter Markers.

So now is your chance to go over to Lisa's store and pick you up a file to play with. You can get a free file in your emails if you sign up for newsletter, you wont want to miss it. She has some awesome new files added. Cute Thanksgiving and Christmas ones.

Happy Birthday

Good Morning my crafty friends.I sure do hope you all are trying to stay out of Sandy's path. If you are in it and affected by it , I send my prayers up for you to keep you safe and help you heal. Today I'm here with my Tuesday DT post with Scrapping With Lisa Designs.
Princess Kiara's birthday is coming so I made her a card. She loves purple, bears and cupcakes. I chose to use the Cupcake file AND  the bear file to make my card.
I printed the files onto white cardstock, inked the bear with light pink ink. Colored the top of the cupcake and heart with dark pink ink. Used the Cricut celebrations paper for the purple background. Printed Happy Birthday from my computer, made it inside paint.

Also here is a LO I did of the princess. I used a photo from 2005 when she was only 3 years old. I love this photo as much as I Love Her.

So now is your chance to go over to Lisa's store and pick you up a freebie to play with (not sure how long it stays but you can get them in your emails if you sign up for newsletter, you wont want to miss it). She has some awesome new files added. Cute Thanksgiving and Christmas ones.

Halloween tags

Morning crafters, I'm here with my Tuesday DT post with Scrapping With Lisa Designs. I chose to make one file into two different one. I took the Ghost-Tag and made two. Instead of using two ghosts, I switched it up and used the wacky pumpkin also.  I added them onto some wobbles I received in a swap. There a little scary when you wobble them. hehe.

I cut the two bases out of colorbok black textured card stock. The green are from the scrap bin and so is the orange. I printed the ghost on white card stock. I also printed the pumpkin onto card stock. I inked around the pumpkin and ghost.

I used some green, orange and black twine in the tags. Stamped the tags with some Halloween stamps.

Well I hope you enjoyed my quick tags. If you decide to make some I would like to see.

So now is your chance to go over to Lisa's store and pick you up a freebie to play with (not sure how long it stays but you can get them in your emails if you sign up for newsletter, you wont want to miss it). She has some awesome new files added. Cute Thanksgiving and Christmas ones.

Carving Out Good Times Hop.

Welcome to Scrapping with Lisa's Designs Design Team Carving Out Good Times. In Lisa's store, she has two (2) files for Carving out Good Times - the bears  and the children . The Design Team has been challenged this month to do a two-page lay-out to showcase these designs.

If you have arrived from then your carving skills are wonderful, just watch out for those pumpkin seeds and the mush inside. If you have just came upon my blog and would like to start at the beginning, so you don't miss any sp0oky LO's, then please start at Lisa's.

I chose to use the children file because me and Princess Kiara was going to carve us a pumpkin. This was her first time and my second time ever carving pumpkins. She made a sign and named him Turtle Man. The I heart U pumpkin was from last year, my little brother helped me carve it. It was our first ever pumpkin. Was so fun sharing the experience with him.

Now let's get onto the LO.

I printed the file as a PDF and even shrunk it , but as you can see my kids are huge, I was thinking I was going to need a 3 pager. HaHaHa. I used a sketch I have had on my PC forever. It seems it is from my scrapbook zone

Using Colorbok brights cardstock in purple I made my 2 back ground pages. I took a black in the same brand and used it as my "blocking". I also used a green from the brights stack as my photo mats. I inked around as much as I could with black, also around photos.  The file I printed on cream card stock and cut and pieced together. The pumpkin journal was from a swap and I am unsure of whom it was from.

Your next stop in our blog today is Janet, but watch out for sharp knives and again, that mush inside.
