B-Day

Hey crafty friends. I wanted to share a layout I did today. I used a sketch for a challenge at colorful creations 2014. The sketch is a fun one. It has one photo on it and I used two photos and made it in to one. The paper is VERY  busy I know. I got it from another swap over at scrapbook.com . The challenge over there is the UGLY PAPER CHALLENGE. The two papers seemed to be birthday themed. I will show a photo of the papers below. The big title is also from a swap over at scrapbook.com. I thought it was time I started to use up all these swaps I seem to keep joining.

Below is my 2 pieces of "ugly" paper and a embellishment. As you can see the papers clash bad. The rules are you have to use both pieces, at least 90%. So I used one  as background (right one) and cut the other up. Used it as a photo mat and cut some presents and hearts from it. There is not much left. I used a red and blue piece from the CRICUT Paper Pad, Celebrations 40-1603 for under the photos.

Here is the sketch I used .

So there you have my take on the challenge and sketch over at Colorful Creations. Why don't you try one of there sketches one day? I'd love to see what you come up with.

I've also entered my project into the following challenges:
* ttcrd-challenge-june-24 - anything goes
* milkcoffeechallenge*summer-fun-challenge  - my birthday is the end of July-dab into the summer,

Why Don't You Blog This?

I'm here today to complete a swap I joined. It is called " why don't you blog this?"  You have 2 partners and they will tell you something they want you to blog about. You then go and blog about The topic they chose for you.

So here goes:

Topic 1 is from katcouch and her topic is "which pet you think is the best and why. Write if you have owned any in the past and if you have talk about how they influenced how you feel about that kind of pet."

I LOVE LOVE animals.  I once had a parakeet I named Blu . She of course was blue, I had her for 11 years and she past away. I miss her so much. I now have 2 parakeets named Bucky and Leo. I have had them for about 3 years now, My bestie got them for me after Blu had past away. They love to sing and watch tv. When wrestling comes on they will talk loud the whole time. Bucky is green and Leo is yellow. I call them "boys" lol. The best pet anyone could ask for.

Miss.Daisy came into my life February 13, 2013. She is a Chihuahua and Calahoula mixed. She weighs 17 pounds now. Daisy's birthday is December 24, 2013 . She loves her friends the cats. As soon as she goes outside, her friends come and join her. When I take her for a walk, I am also walking 3 cats as they follow us . It is so funny. Daisy has her own pillow and blanket in the car and she loves to go for rides with me. She will follow me to the door and when I say she can't go this time, she will sit at that door all sad until I get back. I believe she has separation anxiety when shes not with me. Nap time with mommy is her favorite past time. She will sit beside the bed and just stare at you until you pick her up and put her in bed with you. She will stay and sleep with you for hours.

I have had betta fish, gold fish, cat fish but I cant seem to keep fish.

Here are some photos of my babies.

Happy Mother's Day Mom

I wanted to make something for my mom to show her how special to me she is. I found a gorgeous glass bell with flowers in it , at my grandma's garage sale. I knew right then that this is what I was going to alter for my mom. She loves the color purple. Any shade of it, she loves. So I had to change the color of the flowers and ribbon on the bell to match perfectly.

Here is what the bell looked like when I got it.

I looked and looked in my stash to see just how I was going to change the colors from pink to purple. I decided I was going to make some mist spray since I never did it before and I apparently needed some.
I went to the local dollar general and got some alcohol and spray bottle. They dont sell any type of dye so I had to go to Walmart for that.
I ended up getting 2 bottles of the Rit dye in the colors or purple and denim.

Here is everything I used on my project.

I started by making my spray. I filled the spray bottle to where you see it with the alcohol. Then just added the Rit in until i was content with my color. Taking the hot glue gun I put the flower trim around the handle of the bell.

When I  was finished with that I took apart the flowers. Taking the leaves off and the big one I say the small ones inside my trash can and sprayed the heck out of it. They was a real deep purple but once air drying they lightened up .

After I sprayed the little ones I then went and sprayed the big one. It was originally white and pink. I kinda dried it a little with a napkin then let it finish air drying.

When I was content with my flowers I went on to dye the ribbon which was a lighter pink. I loved how the ribbon came out. The color is beautiful. After it air dried I tied it back on to the base of the handle like it originally was.

After I got all of that done I went hunting gems. I used the ones I kept from my I-Rock. The ones I used are a deep deep purple. I glued them to the base of the bell with the glossy accent.

Using Folk Art acrylic paint in the violet pansy color, I wrote mom on the front of the bell. It's not wrote perfect but she loves it.

Here is the finished bell.

I started the day making 2 mothers day cards. One for my mom and one for my sister. I used Cricut Craft Room to make them. They are cut at 4 inches . I made purple for mom and orange / yellow for my sister. A little chalk ink to edge and  gel pens to outline.

Really hoping you liked my mothers day creation for my mom. I know she loved it.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my project. Did you make anything ? If so what did you create? I'd love to see it.

We make the perfect blend.

Morning, how are you doing ? I just couldn't sleep so I made a simple yet fun card. It is rather on the big side but still cute. I used a sentiment from bugaboo stamps . Such a fun file to work with. I colored the cup and heart with inks and a q-tip. The heart and band I used Versa Color - Cardinal. The cup and around the edges of card I used Color Box pigment brush pad - teal.

I told you it was so simple and fun .

I am entering this fun card into the

Challenge #32 - Coffee

Thanks for stopping by, if you are wanting to enter this fun and simple challenge, I would love to see your project.
