Home made lip balm - DIY

I don't know about you but I hate the taste of Vaseline and carmex, unless it is the cherry flavored carmex. I also love love kool-aid and drink mixes. I was sitting here thinking of how to make the Vaseline taste better then it actually does. So i went to playing with different powdered drinks and Vaseline. I went to the store to get some canisters because the bathroom cups wasn't working well. All I could find is some big Christmas ones, so I got a pack of 4. When I got home I kept thinking that these are too big to carry anywhere so I emptied 3 small glitter canisters I had and used them.

Here is what I did. I took a popcicle stick and scooped some vasoline into the canister, after about 5 coops I had enough. After that I opened up a pack of crush grape single serve kool-aid and started to pour it in and stirred it very well. I added a little more and a little more until it was the color I wanted. I then did the same but used jolly rancher watermelon single serve kool-aid and mixed it well. I did this for 2 small and 1 large canister.  If you put it on right away it will be exfoliating. Wait an hour and the granules will dissolve.

Today is my nieces 11th birthday so she wanted to also make lip balm. So I let her make 1 of each in 1 of each canister. She asked my mom to try some in the morning to let her know if it tastes good. LOL

Lets get on to the lip balm shall we?

  1. That's such a GREAT idea! Cheaper materials that you can make plenty of, with the wonderful ability to choose a flavor you already know you'll like!! Thank you so much for sharing!!
